Southern Arizona Wedding | Pauly and Eric
When I first met Pauly for coffee and she began to share the details of her southern Arizona wedding to Eric with me, I knew it was going to be a special day. She shared the story of how she met Eric and how they fell in love, and the way she talked about him made me want to meet him. At their engagement session their love for each other was so apparent in the way they looked at, talked to, and held each other. Every time I spoke to either Eric or Pauly as the Big Day approached, the excitement to share their lives together became bigger and more palpable. And, once it arrived, their wedding day was everything they hoped it would be.
Pauly got ready at the home she shares with Eric on the Santa Fe Ranch, helped by her mom and her bridesmaids. Her blush dress with rhinestone net details was well worth her careful hunt, and we won’t even talk about that cathedral length veil. Not yet, anyway.
Pauly and Eric’s shell ring box was an adorable and unique touch, as well as the locket Pauly attached to her bouquet. It holds a very special photo that walked her down the aisle.
While Pauly completed her finishing touches down the hall, Eric and his groomsmen did the same at the church. Thanks to Amanda of The Indigo Studio for these awesome shots of Eric!
Eric, in one of my favorite wedding moments ever, teared up as Pauly walked down the aisle. And who could blame him, with a bride that beautiful?! Pauly shed some tears as well when she spoke her vows to Eric. If you’d like to see the moments unfold, scroll to the bottom and watch their wedding highlight video!
Their wedding was a full mass, with all of the beautiful tradition and meaning that includes. And of course, the added perk of beautiful stained glass as a backdrop.
Another of Pauly and Eric’s unique wedding details was this absolutely incredible antique trolly car! After posing for a few photos Pauly and Eric and their whole wedding party traveled up the road in the vintage car to their reception at the Santa Fe Ranch.
Southern Arizona is known for its glowing golden light and Pauly and Eric’s wedding day was no exception! It created some incredible ambiance at the Santa Fe Ranch for the bridal party photos. The pretty incredible bunch of people in their bridal party pushed the whole thing over the edge into EPIC.
I absolutely adored these mismatched bridesmaid dresses, along with the darling bridesmaids who wore them. Squad goals, people!
I could have photographed Pauly and Eric together for hours. Days. They are both so beautiful on the inside and out, and so, so very much in love. Mix in the golden light and natural beauty of southern Arizona and it could easily become my most favorite addiction.
Okay, now it’s time to talk about this veil. This amazing, epic, stunning, cathedral length veil. OBSESSED. And that southern Arizona wind we all love to hate was just as obsessed I think. Perfection.
As happy as I would have been to photograph this couple for hours and hours, we did eventually head down the road to their wedding reception. And a good thing we did because it was absolutely rockin’.
You just know any wedding reception with a mariachi band is going to be a good time! And these guys were so committed to making sure the wedding couple and their guests had a beautiful and fun evening. They turned their best sides to the photographers like champs too!
These two never stopped surprising me with their unique, fun details. Check out these custom picante bottles. Not just their names and their wedding date, their faces. THEIR FACES ARE ON THE BOTTLE. Adorable. I love it!
Pauly’s Made of Honor, her sister Catherine, and the Best Man, Eric’s good friend Don, both knocked their toasts out of the park. Lots of laughter and a few tears of joy shared by everyone present.
The same can be said of Pauly and Eric’s first dance. Both laughter and some happy tears to share. One look at them and it’s not hard to imagine a lifetime of joy together.
After delicious food from The Sonoita Cafe (I could wax eloquent about Chef Adam’s ribs and BBQ sauce, but I won’t here. If you’re ever in Sonoita you really need to stop in!) and some awesome dancing, it was time for cake! Janis Haji-Sizer of My Homemakers Haven made this adorable ruffled wedding cake. The charming skull cake topper was so perfectly Eric and Pauly and so was the silly and romantic way they shared their cake.
The silliness and romance was present on the dance floor too when Eric removed Pauly’s garter. But it was mostly some very real and very beautiful true love that finished out their wonderful southern Arizona wedding.
Congratulations Pauly and Eric! Wishing you many, many years of joy and laughter! (Don’t forget to watch their highlight video below to see all the emotion of their ceremony!)
