Kristen and Anthony could not have made my job easier. Seriously. Not only did we settle on a Lost Gulch engagement session, but they are so. dang. in LOVE.
I guess this is what it’s like when you’ve known someone half your life and can’t wait to share the rest with them. Kristen and Anthony are high-school sweethearts but they still have that “brand new super exciting” vibe. There’s no doubt they’re in it for the long haul and they’ve got what it takes to get there.
Speaking of “getting there,” Lost Gulch is one of the most accessible spots for beautiful views in Boulder. Though, there’s no shortage of scenic vistas in the area I’ll admit. It’s just a short drive up the mountain from town. In warm weather it’s an easy walk to the best viewing. In the early Colorado spring though… The snow was still there (unsurprising), but wet and slushy, which acutally made the footing even more treacherous. If you decide to visit lost gulch before summer, be prepared that it may be unsafe to get to the exact viewing spot you’d like.
This particular view is safely accessible on any typical spring break though, and well worth the short drive!
Here’s a perfect example of how easy Kristen and Anthony made my job. They came prepared to have a good time (just as I’d recommended) and they were eager to laugh and do all the little things I’d suggested. In this photo I asked them to practice their first dance and suggested that maybe someone should sing. Kristen volunteered Anthony, but when I asked if he was a good singer he responded with an adamant but good natured, “NO!” It’s not always about the specific thing I’ve recommended you do; it’s often more about the way you and your partner react to it. When you want to be together as much as Kristen and Anthony do, it always, ALWAYS shows.
I should also mention that even the chilly slushy snow wasn’t enough to keep visitors away on a Saturday afternoon. There were a LOT of people at this Lost Gulch engagement and we had to work hard and get creative in order to get our top of the mountain vibes while still being respectful to other visitors. Fortunately most Coloradoans (even the ones in Boulder) are good-natured people who love love and they’re usually eager to be of assistance in helping the happy couple get their photos.
Kristen and Anthony are definitely on top of the world in more ways than one. I simply CANNOT wait for their November wedding at Church Ranch! Come back and check it out!!
